If you buy a firearm online, you will need to have it transferred to you by a local FFL like us.
How it works:
When your firearm arrives, you will be contacted by email, text message, or phone call. When you come to pick up, bring your valid TX Driver License, your TX CHL/LTC (if you have one), and cash or credit card. If you have a TX CHL/LTC, the fee is $25 per firearm. If not, the fee is $35 per firearm.
After you have paid the transfer fee, you are required to complete a DOJ/BATFE Firearm Transaction Record, commonly called a Form 4473. If you have a TX CHL/LTC, no National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is required. If you do not have a TX CHL/LTC, a NICS check is initiated online or by phone, hence the extra fee. If approved immediately, the transfer is complete.
Occasionally, a transfer is delayed by NICS for unknown reasons, and the transfer will be approved within 5 days, when you come back to complete the transfer. In the rare case that the transfer is denied, you would be responsible for the cost of returning the firearm to the seller.
